Our interview is with Laura J. Underwood. Laura J. Underwood is losing count of the number of stories she has had published, but there are a lot of them, and books too. Some of her tales have appeared in such places as BUBBAS OF THE APOCALYPSE, SWORD & SORCERESS, CATFANTASTIC, LOW PORT, Marion Zimmer Bradley's FANTASY Magazine, TURN THE OTHER CHICK and many more. She has also had several books and chapbooks out including ARD MAGISTER, CHRONICLES OF THE LAST WAR, MAGIC'S SONG: TALES OF THE HARPER MAGE and TANGLES WEBS AND OTHER IMAGINARY WEAVING and MARKING THE SIGNS AND OTHER TALES OF MISCHIEF. Her novel DRAGON'S TONGUE, Book 1 of "The Demon-Bound" Duology has just been released by Meisha Merlin and is sequel WANDERING LARK is due out in and 2007. She has two more novels forthcoming; a fantasy THE HOUNDS OF ARDAGH (Five Star Press, Oct 2006) and a mystery collaboration with Selina Rosen titled BAD LANDS (Five Star Press, 2007) as well as a short novel "The King's Wind" forthcoming from Carnifex Press. She is a librarian when she is not a writer, and a fencer and a hiker, and she lives in an area of East Tennessee that is rife with Bubbas of all sorts--which explains where she gets some of her crazy ideas.
